The Osprey at work x-post Acrylics

The Osprey doing what they do best. There are only a very few breading pair in the UK and we have to travel miles to see them. But on my trips to Florida I found them virtually on every street corner.

Love your osprey, Steve. Your blue values give the impression of night time.Maybe lighten it a bit more?

Good action! A wonderful bird to watch, I missed them last year but hope to see them when they arrive this year. Love the wings. I agree with Christel about the blue though, it might be a bit overpowering. I love the line of trees in the background though, the water's so calm over there compared to the foreground.

Re: The Osprey at work x-post Acrylics

Thank you all for your kind comments, However I have just had a lesson from my wife on how to take a better picture. The picture below was taken on her phone. After it had been back on my easel, because I noticed the blueness as soon as I had posted it.
I think I need to stop, stand back and have a good look at work in future before I post them.
Anyway here is my second attempt.
Cheers,
Steve.

We moved to Florida last summer, and you are right- there IS an osprey on every corner! LOL! I've taken numerous photos of them, but haven't painted them yet. Yours is very nice!

Re: The Osprey at work x-post Acrylics

Nice work Steve, there are a pair of Ospreys regularly nest at Rutland Water near Leicester. It is difficult to see them because of the protection the RSPB have put around them but we found a railway bridge on the road round the reservoir and with a good pair of binoculars we could see them from there. Photographs would be impossible though.
