Scavenger Hunt #484: Feb 6-14

I'm reposting one of Jeanne's Hunts from 2015. I have a call in to her, she didn't answer her phone. Hope she is OK.

Here you go:

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/show...366347&page=44

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

***If you have some hunt sketches completed, but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyway. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.***

Re: Scavenger Hunt #484: Feb 6-14

I am getting soooooooo bad at remembering. Thanks to Jo for keeping on top of it for me. Loved the phone call. Always nice to hear from her.

Still not seeing real good. Still fighting itching problems. After two months itching, I'm on Prednisone. And with Prednisone comes hunger and weight gain. Sometimes I feel like a beached whale. But at least my chest, upper arms, stomach, and back don't look like I have chickenpox now. Not sure it's from being allergic to dogs, nerves, or some new problem that has come calling. Now that the itching is less, catching up on a lot of lost sleep.

Also I have been working on improving my colored pencil skills. I have been watching some videos and live streams from a couple UK artists. They do animal portraits and I'm loving every bit of it. I have adapted some of their tips and really like the results I'm getting. You can see my pieces I'm working on on my blog or FB page.

Keep on sketching. I will try to check in more often.

Oh and Joe, I heard about your new robot dog. I want to see a photo. Now I want one. A little over my price range but my mom said at least I wouldn't be allergic to it. She isn't a dog person so can't understand why I don't get rid of mine because of the allergies. No way that will happen. In fact I would like another one. lol

Jo, thanks for stepping in with one of Jeanne's previous hunt lists.

Jeanne, I set so many reminders on my computer for things and I still forget. Hope you do finally catch up on some sleep. I loved the animal portraits you've been posting on FB. Take care!

Jeanne Here are some pics of Chip. Maybe jo could get Gene to post some of Veto.

He does eat if you toss him digi stuff from app.
He also has a ball he plays with.
But best he does not need to be walked.

Off to sketch

Joe and Jeanne, I think Veto and Chip are identical twins! Look exactly the same. Ha.

He is doing his yoga and sitting. I should have taken him out in the sunshine, sigh.

I sketched on the iPad with the App Brushes and my fingers. You can see I got bored with the whole thing and ended the sketch. Ha.

Re: Scavenger Hunt #484: Feb 6-14

Hi everyone!

Jo - Good iPad thumbs.

I did a few sketches earlier today but I'm too lazy to get up and take photos of them. I'll post them tomorrow when I'm stuck inside with the snowstorm. These I photographed when I got home, but the others are in a different book.

1 - seascape - watercolors
2 - something twisting (ribbon) - watercolors and ink
3 - the top of something (chocolate box)
4 - two of something (I've got several things that there are more than two of.)

Re: Scavenger Hunt #484: Feb 6-14

I sketched in the huge book today with my Micron 05 that is on its last leg. Quick and got it done! Had to use a camera, scanner not big enough for 2/3 of a page. Ha.

Number 2, shoulder
Number 3, Switch
Number 4, top - of Gene's coffee thermos
Number 5, two of something - little folding tables from Peru leaning on wall. Leather tops.
