Smile Mailbox

Loved the mailbox Leslie - it's a pity we don't use these in the UK, but no reason the idea couldn't be used on planters etc. Thanks , Maureen.

Thank you Maureen. you're right! A planter would be cute!!!

MALARKEY Thanks for looking at my site, I am flattered. The ballet portrait was difficult one, for me!!! Thought it was headed for the gesso, for sure! Got lots of WC support, however... which saved it! I appreciate your commenting on it!!!!!

And thanks MALARKEY for your comment on the mailbox, too!!!

Re: Decorate Your Own Mailbox!

Hi, Carly and all! Great job!
I've been thinking about doing one for my wife. She raises guide dog puppies.
I was wondering if you used some sort of clear finish for protection against weather and UV? I may have missed it when I was reading through.
Just curious.

Re: Decorate Your Own Mailbox!

Jacob, this thread is about 3 years old, but you might want to post your question as a new thread in the Decorative Arts forum -- I'm sure someone will have some good advice for you.

Re: Decorate Your Own Mailbox!

Thanks, Diana. I haven't been to this section of WC. I read back through this and it looks like Carly used polyurethane.
I guess I answered my own question.

Re: Decorate Your Own Mailbox!

The mail box is a fun project...I miss mailboxes! We have group clusters in all of our new home neighborhoods. Looking like post office boxes.

But for alll of you that paint pet portaits, go look at Leslies web site. WOW! They look like photographs!

Bravo Leslie!!!
