WDE Jan. 22, an elephant never forgets...

A student of mine a few years back used to write that on every quiz with an accompanying stylized drawing of an elephant. Unfortunately, this student frequently forgot to do the reading for class, so I would have to draw a very un-stylized zero next to his elephant. But at least he never forgot the elephant.

This is acrylics on a 10"x10" gessobord. The elephant's right ear is a bit wacky. Ah, well. It took about 1.45 hours.

Thanks for hosting, Sandra, and thanks for looking everybody! I did my own C-challenge: cropped.

To me, line is the basis, the foundation, and yours are so wonderful! This elephant moves, he shimmers, he reflects! And I absolutely loved the story of the forgetful student and his memorable elephant. I suppose the student is a millionaire now - promoting memory vitamins? Thank you for sharing the story and the painting, both are great!

Love the effect here. Funny story, too. I have seen several quizzes adorned by drawings by students who didn't get 100% on their questions.

I love this! Full of energy and I like the use of straight lines. I see nothing wrong with his ear though!
