Palpeur d'aucun (follower of none)

MY IMAGE(S):

GENERAL INFORMATION:
Title: Palpeur d'aucun (follower of none)
Year Created: 2003
Medium: Acrylic
Surface: Canvas
Dimension: 12x12
Allow digital alterations?: Yes!

MY COMMENTS:
I have brought this painting to a "finished" piece on 5 separate ocassions, each time, taking a snapshot to see it more objectively. The painting is a gift for a dear friend. I wanted the painting to invoke some storminess with the promise of brighter days ahead. It is my first, and likely last, attempt at the ocean since I am now severely humbled.

MY QUESTIONS FOR THE GROUP:
Is the boat too large for the composition?
Is the boat too "white"
Are the sail colors ok?
Do I need to do #6?? I.e. complete overhaul?
Be brutal. I've looked at it too long and need to either send it or scrap it!
