Red Scarf

Oil 10 x 12 inches. Not sure if it is finished yet. Any glaring mistakes here - or subtle ones? Thanks.

Re: Red Scarf

i really like this. very nice. imo, i think the shadow in her nostril is too blue, and maybe can be grayed out a little. it really stands out to me. also i feel the irises of her eyes are un even. and her lashes could have the edges cleaned up some. but over all a very nice portrait. well done.

Thanks for your astute remarks, I have made the relevant changes. Looks much better now.

Re: Red Scarf

You have a natural start for a very nice portrait. I would suggest more temperature changes on the skin as it looks a bit "plastic" now. The curvature of the pupils also need to be identical at this angle.

Eyebrows and lashes: tiny brushes, soft strokes in the direction in which the hair grows will give it a more life-like look.

Nostril: light reddish-brown to almost a burnt sienna as the nostril disappears upwards.

Keep painting!
