Fixative question

Hi Everyone;

I've seen on WC where Spectrafix is recommended, and I tried it and it spotted my work, using the pump spray bottle. Has anyone tried using an airbrush with this fixative? I am going to try it on my next study, and will post the results.

Re: Fixative question

Looking forward to the results. Clean the airbrush immediately with drinking alcohol like Everclear though. Long long ago when mammoths roamed the land I had an airbrush and killed it with shellac based inks because dummy didn't rinse with solvent immediately after use.

Misting bottles seem to vary. My small mister did that, but te large mister didn't. Go fig. It also happened over time. Again maybe should have soaked in vodka. I had a little spotting that vanished after it dried.

Re: Fixative question

Thanks for your great post. I am using a water based fixative. I didn't think to use a different mister bottle.
I would love your feedback on my engine painting, if you are interested, PM me and I will send you the photo.
Thanks again!
