Another Name

Hello everyone,

I will ask an unusual question.

I don't know if you have been thinking about this.

There are singers that use a very short and easy name to use so people
will remember it or because their name is not that nice and don't fit to the
singing business (to the producers).

There are book writers in certain branches that use another name then
their own.

Have you ever heard of a painting artist that use another name. If a person
has a difficult name to pronounce or remember do they use an artistic name?

I know that your name is important when coming out there as an artist. But
is there anyone who used another name?

Re: Another Name

Not that unusual of a question! Here are some links to articles discussing the subject:

Although I can't think of any of the top of my head, I am sure there are artists that use pseudonyms - especially if they have a common name or the name of an already famous (or infamous) person, or well known artist. I think that usually this can be avoided by making minimal changes. If my name was Claude Anthony Monet, for example, I could use C.A. Monet, or Anthony Monet, or even Claude Anthony as my artist name.

Luckily, my name is Don Ketchek - quite possibly the only one in the world - so I am not mistaken for anyone else, famous or otherwise!

Re: Another Name

Hi Don, and thank you for your answer.

So I am not the only one thinking about this, good.

I will look at the links you have given.

You have a rather short familyname so its easy to remember. And if you are the
only one in the world, even better

Thank you again

There are actually at least three other Bonnie Butlers who are artists. Odd, I know. I always use my maiden name in the middle to differentiate and I always sign BF Butler.
