Heron Lake

Inspired by a local lake where there are beautiful Blue Herons that live all along the shoreline. I love watching those graceful birds. This particular bird if from a photo on PMP, and the lake is a loose rendition of Tampier Lake, the lake near my house that is home to the birds here.

Hails from United Kingdom
Re: Heron Lake

I like this Tami, we have lots of Grey Heron on the shoreline near us and I've had a painting in my head for some time so perhaps yours will spur me on!

Great texture on the feathers and good setting but the far shoreline seems to give the impression that the water is on a slope - or is that my eyes playing tricks on me?

Re: Heron Lake

Thanks Pips. I know what you mean. It's sort of an optical illusion that I didn't handle well. The shoreline isn't sloped but it's not 'even' it kind of has a lot of little 'eddies' kind of. indentions that I didn't carry out well enough.
