Scavenger Hunt #378: Oct 8 - Oct 16

Scavenger Hunt #378: Oct 8 - Oct 16

If you've participated in at least one Scavenger Hunt and have time to host one we would really appreciate it. You can sign up by posting your name on the current hosting schedule in the Art From Life forum here:

http://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=366347

Here are the rules for the hunt:

*All items on the list must be sketched from life - not imagination or photo reference.

*Each object you draw can count for only one item on the list, no matter how many shapes/parts/colors that object contains. This was agreed on by unanimous vote among the participants.

*You may place multiple objects together in a drawing or painting, and may count these objects as separate items, but no single object can count for more than one item.

*All items posted must be numbered. Count them as you go. The first item you post will be #1 regardless of its place on the list. Do them in whatever order you wish, but count them in the order in which you sketch them, from 1 to 26.

Do as many or as few of the items as you like. You don't have to finish the entire list to participate. The Scavenger Hunt "week" will last for 9 days, with the next hunt starting on the 9th day.

Please tell us your size, surface, medium, and the amount of time it took you for each sketch. We love hearing about your subjects and setups. Photos of your subjects are welcome.

*** If you have some hunt sketches completed but little time to read/comment, please post your sketches anyways. Commenting is appreciated but not necessary.

Thanks, EP and Ai.

Ai, I like the depth in the pan. The pen looks like something I would like to use. Good for lettering!

We had a good day looking around Bastrop and area. We are all tired tonight. See all y'all later.

Ei, nice work on the pen and pan. Love the metalic look of the pen point.

Robert, nice choice on the aromatic orange peel. I can smell it now. I see Ari is helping you out again, what a valuable cat!

Jo & Anne: Thanks.

Here is my 2nd batch:

#3 ink bottle, drawn directly with wc
#4 red -- a brush, red ink and blk wc as shadow
#5 yellow -- a highlight pen, 4B pencil first, then wc

Ai, nice work on the ink bottle and brush. Love your "yellow" item.

Here is my first batch, a still life of 4 items. 5" x 7", ink and watercolor on Stonehenge.

1. Aromatic (perfume bottle)
2. Comfortable (hand cream under the glove)
3. Glove
4. Knot (red scarf)

Shell, looking forward to your sketches.

Hi Robert. Great orange peel. Ari is too sweet. I appreciate your charcoal work. I just don't do that. I can't control the mess. Ha.

Ai, What a cute group of sketches. The bottle shape is great and the yellow pen is fun. Smiling.

Anne, very nice. I like your choices and rich color. Interesting bottle.

Our company is gone so hope to get some artwork in soon! Thanks all for sketching on.....

Re: Scavenger Hunt #378: Oct 8 - Oct 16

I sketched on the porch this morning with my iPad and fingers. I used a program called SketchBook. It has a program where you can do a replay and post it. My Brushes does a great one, but I haven't figured out how to post it. This one you have to hit record when you start so didn't have it on. Anyway...

Number 1, evergreen or other tree - Evergreen branch and bonus Oak tree
