#02 Practise: Oriental Dragon Head

My C&C will be the nose (top right) is too big.

The nose portion and the teeth are also problematic.

Will pay attention to these areas for now if I re-attempt it. Its an enjoyable experience

After this practise, I have much to improve especially on fur rendering. This is a beautiful animal photograph but my skills is not there yet. Much to work on~

Very nice work. I love the dragon. It would make an outstanding tatoo. Having tried my hand at drawing an eagle, I can appreciate your drawing. You captured the majesty of the bird. I love the beak and mouth detail.

Re: Coaltip's SketchBook 2014

Hi Kristen, thanks! I did not realised there are so much detail in the eagle beak. Good thing the photograph is able to capture the details.

Now that you mentioned it, the dragon design might work for a tattoo.

Below is a recent drawing. It turned out to be very different from that I planned. I did not keep a discipline approach on it. Wanted to give up half way but one of the threads mentioned to keep on practising and continue to "complete" a drawing/ sketch and one will find something to learn from. I follow that advice and turn it into a exercise to experiment a bit of lighting.
slightly painful but beneficial as well.

Actually, I like practice No.4. It's very biomorphic in design.
