Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

Beautiful reference images here - I'm going to try really hard to make time for this one (even though the white theme scares me! ) I'm really drawn to the first image of the white cactus, so I think I'll give that one a go

Working on my sketch of the Frangipani, it's so beautiful. (The flower, I mean, not my sketch )

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

Dewi - I think I might have a try at the white Epiphyllum.
These beautiful plants can't be grown outside here,(too frosty in the Winter) but I do have some in our conservatory. I did have a lovely white one...once...it flowered for 2 years in a row then died! It was one of the large flowering ones, very like your photo. I've no idea what I did to it, as it died.....certainly wasn't over-watering! I'm not good with pot plants, I have so much garden, I forget to water my pot-plants.

Dewi - that's lovely!
I've just shared it with the QDC-ers in Acrylics because Howard (Idylbrush) has been keeping us up-to-date with his own night-bloomer! Lovely to see they're of the same plant (It's all new to me!)

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

I'm having fun with this. I used some of my new gray for the background and some of the colors in the gray came through in a picture of my painting but you can't see it in the painting. Now to get my painting to look like the picture. usually its the other way around.

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

I'm not participating this month due to lack of time not lack of interest, but I want to thank Dewi for the fascinating video. It's amazing watching this delightful flower open. Thanks for the opportunity to see something not available to me in the Plains states.

Dewi these are beautiful flowers. I started to tackle the night shot of the cactus flower. More difficult than it looks.
