Arrow September 2014 Plant Parade Project

Welcome to the September Edition of the Plant Parade Project.

Our choice of the month is
WHITE FLOWER(S)

The images here are all from my photos collection and some from my former garden.
I have noticed that most of my white flowers had lovely smell.
If you donít mind, it would be nice if this time you will choose from flowers that I presented here
click on the link and it will take you to the White Flowers PPP 2014 pages in the library with more variety of whites..... thank you in advance.

Plenty to choose and perhaps just perhaps, some of it you havenít seen in your country.

There are few rules though;
Crop, enlarge, distort, play, manipulate a reference in any way you wish as long as they are still looks almost/semi white.

All media are welcome, DiGi, mixed and collaged if you wish.
Any method of applying the medium is acceptable too.
Discuss, banter with others about your choice(s), your successes, finds and/or difficulties in this thread, but reveal nothing until 25th September!
If you subscribe to the thread it's easier to keep up with all the communications.

We start with;

Used to be in my former garden Clerodendron or Glory tree

Single Curcuma

From my former garden White Flower sorry donít know the name.

Hortensia

Ipomoea Alba/ Moon flower and her delicate smell open up during the night only once, we eat those buds too.

From my former garden White Cactus which bloomed at night

In another composition

The same cactus in the morning when petals were saying good bye.

From my former garden Heydechium Coronarium with her heavenly fragrant

From my former garden Muraya Paniculata this one too, smell heavenly, flowering often during night time and the next morning it looked just like snow on the ground.

From my former garden Beautiful Frangipani/Plumeria with her soft smell.

From my former garden too another fantastic White Epiphyllum or Midnight Queen with her soft smells which bloomed in the evening.

Hope you all could join us hereÖ explore with White and not too be disappointed with the subject.
See you all on September 25th

Lovely reference photos, Dewi! Many of those flowers are new to me too. Hmmm, it will be difficult to choose just one...

I don't know whether I'll have the time to join in but these refs certainly look tempting. White flowers are amongst my favorites. Thank you for choosing such lovely pictures.

The third one might be a Shoal or Cahaba Lily. Does that sound familiar?

Lovely and unusual flowers...it's a shame we can't paint the scents too!

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

Hello everyone and thank you for your nice comments.
So glad that I could share with you these flowers.

Kay, 25th is still three weeks to go so you might want to paint white again by that time I hope. and most of your white w c always looking like porcelain.

Joanne choose more than one than

Ferlian I hope you could make it and join us

Yes Maureen, so sad though hopefully they take care of them, Muraya is around 40 years old and still plenty trees in other colours among them a very big and tall of Cempaka/champak yellow one and very fragant.

Thank you Katherine, they do have bulb and spread easily.

The first one had a strong smell like men's hair pomade though.

Yes Lea

Have fun with white everybody and don't forget still plenty of whites at the White PPP 2014 link above.

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

These are so beautiful. White is a challenge, it's going to be interesting handling it if I do one. Tempting though. I don't often participate because it's hard on me to wait for the reveal date, but I will probably be done by the Spotlight by the time I'm ready and might be able to manage this time. I know exploring white with pastels and using near-whites can create a very dramatic effect.

Re: September 2014 Plant Parade Project

Rob, I always get impatient, too. But I actually prefer a reveal date because come that date I feel like having a mini-xmas with visual surprise presents
