Brussels Sprouts WIP

I want to say AKA Little Green Brains! I do not like the taste of these, but what a great subject for art.

This is on a 5x7 board and colored with Ampersand Inks.

Kendall, in the image You can see where the sprout that is center bottom is not quite done. I have added many layers of ink and the state it is in now is some light scratching on the highlights, waiting for another layer of ink.

The sprout in the upper right is in the process of its first scratching, no ink.

Diana

Re: Brussels Sprouts WIP

Thank you Lorna! I think I might like them sauteed with a little bacon, (especially if you left out the Brussels Sprouts!)

I think you and Lorna have a summer picnic or Farmer's Market started here.
Little brains? I may never look at them in the same way ever again!
I like seeing the various stages in this one, Diana. I working on getting color into things too so it's interesting to see what you're doing.

Anything tastes better with bacon, except veggies. Hate veggies. This board is great Diana!

Re: Brussels Sprouts WIP

I used to hate brussels sprouts, but now I love them roasted with a little oil, S&P, and balsamic vinegar. We used to call them baby cabbage heads.

Love your veggies... looking great!

I'm with Ginger on these babies. They are wonderful roasted...mmm.. And the scratching is superb, as usual.

Re: Brussels Sprouts WIP

I didn't like the little brains until I tried them roasted.

Great drawing of the un-roasted version, Diana!

Re: Brussels Sprouts WIP

Thanks Sande! I do enjoy adding color, but there is something about the black and white that really gets to me.
Lorna, you are such a goof!
Thank you Jenny!
Thanks Sue!
Thank you Cynthia!
Thanks Ginger!
Thank you Harry!
Thanks Hector!
Thank you Ann!
Thanks Venkat, what a great thing to say!
Thank you Nelvia!

I thought I was done, but when I look at it on the computer it looks like the bottom right sprout needs more color. I will probably do that, but unless there is a huge difference I may not post it.

I will include a couple of close ups as well.

Diana
