Sketching Class a Sucess!!
Hi All....
Just wanted to let you know that I did my first nature sketching class on Sunday. I work in the Northwoods of Wisconsin as a business manager for a family who owns about 4,000 acres here. They are here for the majority of the summer and I scheduled a nature drawing class for anyone interested. Well...I had 12 participants.....5 of whom were children about 8 - 12 years of age. I brought my own sketchbooks and provided everyone with a sketchbook, pencil and eraser of their own. I also brought some pinecones and little statues of deer in case some didn't want to go outside in the heat.
3 hours later...I have many little artists now. I guess they were sketching all day yesterday....and have come into the office many times to show me their drawings!! They even taught their babysitter to draw---I gave her a book when they all came in. Today, after work, I am going to let them take a peak at my studio....where I have most of my pastels laying out on my table (I can see them asking their parents for some of those :-) ).
I am also going to place some of my framed stuff so they can see it too.
What a thrill it is to inspire others in the wonderful miracle of art and nature!!!!!
