Working with the sea, sea weeds gives me a hard time,
painting the sea weed both under and above sea.

Any tips on how to make it look natural??

Interesting way to paint. It is looking good so far! *LOL* I like the face peeking over the top of the painting.

Hi all!

What is this about the face this is a prev. painting not finished
I have a tread on this "Portrait need advise"...

Fagan:
You could see this "face" in the above mention tread...

What I need is advice regarding "seeing the surface, seeing the bottom" The transition between the surface of water and the
bottom...

Attach a part of the photo of the seaweed.

It is such a magnitude of colurs and sades..........

Is it better to make a layer of dark blue, then to add
the lighter blue and the to add the green-brown...

Need advise

what you have done is absolutely wonderful!!

you certainly have cut out a task for yourself...
approaches will vary, I'm sure
and I am not sure if what I say will go smoothly
but
I would start from the bottom and go up
(deep in the water to the top)
but, you have filled the space already, right?
and need to work around it?
I'm not sure...

dark cloudy blue in the water
darker brown tan of leaves under water
lighter brown tan of leaves under the water

lighter cloudy blue...highlights on the water
(over what you have done and where it is )
darker cloudy blue over the rest...keeping it under water

then the leaves on top in their proper shades

glazings...transparancies for the transparent
leaves on top...more opeque paint

I do not work in oils, though...
just a thought...hope it helps inspire some thoughts for yourself
good luck! and cheers!!

giniaad:
Thanks for your advise.

Tried to make modification but is not happy.....

And for Fagan:
About the face this is strange, I took 2 photos of this painting
but when the face showed more, see the next answer, the main painting was blured, out of focus, like the face was the center of this. It disturbed me a litle bit...

How come this to happend??
