First Attempt With Acrylics (xpost landscapes)

Well I finally made the plunge into acrylics and it was interesting to say the least (especially because I'm still pretty much a newbie with oils ) I knew it would take a while to get used to the limited blending time, but I found I was having trouble getting the paint to flow. Finally started getting the right amount of medium mixed and started to get better coverage. I think I am hooked now on acrylics, love not having so much mess and I think I'll get used to the speedy dry times. This was a pretty small panel, it will be interesting to see how well I can adapt to a bigger canvas.

A warm welcome from me too Joe. This is excellent particularly for your first acrylic. You are a natural. Like Maureen, I also find this gentle and peaceful. Much to do with the low key palette you have used. Good work on the bark of that tree in the foreground. Looking forward to your next one.

Thanks all for the comments! I would also like to say that Karen Ilari's (I believe she is karinarose on here) videos on youtube are very helpful. Kudos to her for posting free lessons like that!
