Terrace Flowers, Sunday

I haven't posted here in awhile 'cause I haven't done Watercolors in awhile, but Sunday was so beautiful, I went out onto the terrace and painted this while getting a nasty sunburn.

It's "alla prima" in that I didn't do anything to it afterward except reinforce some lines with brown ink. This took about 1 1/2 hours.

Would appreciate your comments.

Cool

I like this bbbilly.

You said that you got a sunburn, but I am unclear as to the direction of light in your piece?

Can you clarify?

I deleted the pic because the colors and values were not right, so hopefully this will be somewhat better. Digital cameras are great but I always have to adjust the photos and they still don't look quite right.

I hoped the shadows of the pots would indicate the light direction but must admit they're not totally clear.

Bbbilly I hope you post more watercolors. This 'Terrace Flowers' is very nice, I especially like the way the entire floral sort of floats in space -- a very nice effect, and it keeps the eye from wondering off.

Thanks and Post More,

j

This is absolutely super Bill. It's winter here, and your flowers make me long for spring.

A very relaxed and happy painting bbbilly. It is one that could be hung on the wall and you would never get tired of looking at it. Keep painting

Lovely floral.

Your style carries over well to watercolor.

Hi bbbilly,

I like it, looked at it for a while. It has a very pleasant quality and there is something about it that makes it move that grabbed me.....light source didn't bother me (maybe it should, I'm learning!).....I would be very pleased if I were you......Karen

Thank you for taking the time to look and comment Rose, Karen, Lise, and Rod, and special thanks to you Rod, you CD has helped me a lot with this new medium.

I've been down with a nasty bug, but have a couple more to post hopefully in the near future.

Bill
