Color Test

This has been on the internet for a while - not sure if you all have seen this yet or not but it's fun.

Re: Color Test

Well, Julie...I started the first line and after moving a few boxes, I found that colors were imprinting on my eyes (the stare at "something red and see what happens" syndrome). Alas, I fear I would rank at the bottom, even if (I believe -Ha ha) I have excellent color sense!

Re: Color Test

I scored a 16....the ones in the middle area were where I had a bit of a problem. Still not too bad for my age group.

Re: Color Test

I looked and moved till everything got blurry and seemed to be the same color. I scored a 70 after my best effort. Now I understand why my wife won't let me dress myself.

Re: Color Test

I got a 3, and got surprised. All the low scores were in the greens.
I didn't really understand the scores, they don't show a typical range or average, only the best and worst results... or maybe I missed something...

Re: Color Test

Like Karl, I didn't have any trouble with this.

Odd for someone who works almost completely with graphite pencil!

Does this mean I will have an easy time when I get started with water colors this year, or am I going to be frustrated trying to mix perfect colors?

I guess I'll find out.

I remember when I was a boy, my dad told me that most women dream in color and many men dream in black and white. I practiced and practiced visualizing colors until I could dream in color.

Re: Color Test

I certainly didn't do as well as I thought I might... I scored a 20 which isn't bad, I guess...

Re: Color Test

Char, what people might not be taking into consideration, is how good your monitor is?
My monitor is ANCIENT, and I can't view movie clips or color charts on it because everything just appears dark...
Just a thought.

Re: Color Test

That's a good point, D.

In my case, I think it is just a factor of aging eyes, even though I had cataract surgery a couple of years ago, I notice things aren't as sharp as they once were. That's why my problems came in the center sections where the colors are closest in tone to one another.

Re: Color Test

Well, my monitor on my dying laptop isn't great. And my eyeglasses need to be updated. But, I was disappointed by my performance anyway! The colour in my work will never be that much of a challenge, though, so I'm ok with it...
