"Which Came First?"

It has been a while since I've posted. I'm about ready to frame this one. For some reason, the shadows on the eggs and the cast shadow on the bowl look very, very blue on my monitor. They are not so IRL.
I frequently stop by Home Goods, looking for inspiration. I'm painting this one for the huge county fair juried art show. When I saw the ceramic chicken on a shelf, the wheels began to turn. When I spotted the chicken bowl, it all came together.
This is an 11 X 14 on La Carte. I've used Unison, Rembrandts and a few pencils. C & C always welcome. Thank you for looking!

Sharp lines and very vibrant, nice work with all the detail! The shadow colors look fine on my end.

Good luck at the fair.

The shadow colors look fine to me too Karen. This is fantastic, I love the subject, really neat. Those reflections are fantastic, and the dark background really makes the whole thing work. What a beautiful glow, great painting!

Karin, i knew i would be in for a treat when i saw your name. This is super. The shine of the ceramic is wonderful and the reflection also. The eggs are great and the shadows look fine to me.

You are so gonna blow the socks of people when they see this at the fair. It's as perfect as Mary Poppins, I love it. What kind of frame will you be going for?

Very well done. I really like the sheen on the chickens head and the diminishing flower on the far right. I am sure you will impress the judges. Best of luck. Bob

Great, funny painting! My screen doesn't show the shades too blueish.
