I Can Make It!!!

The original thread is here.

Its a late afternoon in October and the driver of this '32 Ford is attempting to beat the Nickel Plate Road's Berkshire Type steam locomotive through the railroad crossing.

Hi everyone - Here's my latest painting: "I Can Make It!", Acrylic on canvas, 24x36 inches.

Dan

This is beyond grand, and you get right into the feel, the anticipation, the height of moment. You did a spectacular piece, bravo!!!

Whoa! Great sense of drama and movement. I think I was holding my breath the whole time I was viewing the painting. Wonderful work!

Re: I Can Make It!!!

Ha,ha................... you guys are too funny. Thanks for the kind words regarding the painting, but I really enjoyed some of the comments and speculation on who makes it through the crossing first -- Or should I say alive.

I'll give you my intent - In reality, the '32 Ford is probably going twice the speed of the freight train. So................. I envision the hot-rod squeaks by and may clip the descending crossing gate. However, He makes it home for Mom's meatloaf.

Re: I Can Make It!!!

Great painting, Dan!
A sequel, (or two), would make a fine project.
Looks to me, though, that this guy's gonna buy the farm.
