The Plant Parade: A forum Project April 2013

Welcome to the April Edition of the Plant Parade.

This month our choice of plant is the "Pansy" in all, or any part of, its glory!

Happy Faces, I've never met anyone who doesn't have a big smile on their face when you mention Pansies, everyone loves them!!!

We are fortunate to have we have a wealth of references from the RIL.

As always, if you are fortunate to have one of these magnificent plants in your own garden, feel free to work from life - what a treat!

There are few rules

Crop, enlarge, distort, play, put them in an unusual container, manipulate a reference in any way you wish.

Marvel in the colour, shapes and patterns of this glorious example of Nature that pops up every Spring!!!!

All media welcome - mixed if you wish

Discuss, banter with others about your choice(s), your successes, finds and/or difficulties in this thread, but reveal nothing until 25th March!

If you subscribe to the thread it's easier to keep up with it.

Lovely pansies. I'm going to try and do one and hopefully it can do double duty as our Acrylic Forum April Different Strokes.

A lovely choice of subject, Sharron! Still have purple and yellow pansies blooming here. We're featuring some on the Watermedia challenge of watercans if anyone wants to take a peek:

Thanks Sharon. Pansies are an international favourite and they are so "paintable".

Beautiful choice. I will try very hard to join in this month but already have so much on my plate. Don't see how I can resist though.

Re: The Plant Parade: A forum Project April 2013

What an enchanting reference Sharon!
I'm so very grateful for the references as our Winter pansies have wilted in their tubs under the weight of snow and frost this year.
Gorgeous colours from the smallest heartsease to the giant hybrids.

Re: The Plant Parade: A forum Project April 2013

Thanks all, so glad you like my selection, and they are Glorious.
Also check out Kay's link above-KreativeK- she has some luvys too. Plus there are tons more in the Library,
I had a hard time choosing.
I'm excited, have been wanting to paint some for a couple weeks now and have been holding off. Thought they would be something everyone can do.

Re: The Plant Parade: A forum Project April 2013

I'm trying to get back to painting regularly, and this is definitely something I'd like to paint, either one of these great references or I may have some photos of my own to paint from!

I've actually painted for the last 3 weekends in a row, so I'm on a roll. I'm hoping I can keep it up, and this will be a great incentive!
