Journey

This is my first full artwork in gouache. I had of ton of fun with this and really enjoyed the properties of gouache!

The yellow smudge in the clouds is my poor attempt as sun rays XD.
Critique is appreciated!

8" x 10" on a synthetic resin/paper board. It's sold at Jerry's artarama and stayed rigid even when wet, but doesn't feel nearly as nice as watercolor paper.

Re: Journey

Great job for your first gouache! I can see you've experimented with both transparent and opaque applications. I love the purples. My only critique would be to pull more of the yellow from the lion/dragon thing (which is really cool) into the grass color. The bright green is a bit distracting from the main figure.

I also recommend trying various surfaces to see how the gouache reacts differently.
