Beautifully done. I love the coolness of the greens against the warmth of the buildings.

I love the texture you used on the greenery as opposed to the smoothness of the rest of the painting. The only criticism I have is that the water looks a bit shallow...almost like puddles

I very much like the painting but have to agree with kunoichi: the water does look shallow

Serge...This is the best one of your works in many ways!
I agree with the water looking shallow...and after studying it for awhile, I figured out what the problem is! The water is fine...it's the ledge the couple is sitting on that is the culprit. It just needs a touch of work to give it a sense of height above the water....that's all.
I love your looseness BTW

Serge,I have seen a lot of your work here, you are a good painter,
and you make some wonderfull pictures, but why do you use photgraphs all the time?some of your colors look unreal, wouldn't you love to paint outside and discover the many colors nature has got to show you?Photos don't always show them.
I don't want to sound negative, just want to encourage you, once you go out there, you won't look back
best wishes rob

Hello Rob,

Thanks for your comment.

I mainly paint from photographs because I'm painting during the evening when I come back from work... and damned...it's already dark outside !

But you are right, I will have to find some time to go outside.

Thanks again for your encouragement.

Beste wensen voor u ook.

Serge
