Re: Hwy S Barn

Very nice. Love the color harmony. Would like to see this in a wider (non-standard) landscape format format so the composition could be developed further.

Great colors and light. That hole in the barn roof is wonderful. Gary

Re: Hwy S Barn

All those old, neglected barns in Wisconsin - this one is less sad than the ones near us tho. Love the light on this and the little peeks through the foundation.

Re: Hwy S Barn

Thanks for the replies everyone,
I just found out today that this barn is where my Great Aunt grew up milking cows, and that my Grandma was born at the next farm down the road.

Re: Hwy S Barn

I never tire of good old barn paintings. This has many good things going: the colors, especially. You have varied the shadows from warm to cool and I find it effective. I also would like to see it in a wider format so we could see more to our left. I wonder about bringing the blue of the sky down to the horizon on the right side rather than that bright yellow. It might make us more inclined to follow the other path to the left. Nice work. Dan

Re: Hwy S Barn

Nice scene. Might pop out even better if the barn had more shade since the sun is behind it.

Really like the light in this painting--and the color. very good story, too--makes it so personal. We have a huge barn, maybe I will try it.
