Cool small studies in the tropics

Aloha from Kauai

I have been trying to paint more small quick 6 x 8's playing with composition, color and keys.

I painted these two the other day and thought I would post them.

Next week in the Maui Plein Air Invitational with 25 artists from all over the country. http://mauipleinairpainting.org/

These are wonderful! What depth you achieved in those small pieces!

Thanks!

Value and chroma contrasts are great on these. I think one has to step back to appreciate them. It is not about details but how things hang together. Gary
