Smile for the Camera

Hi all, I have pretty much caught up on my commission work so thought I would do something for me. I am trying a new paper that I recieve from a friend so it is a trial and error kind of thing. The paper is Stonehenge which I have never used and I am not sure if I used the right side or not. I think I am using the rougher side and from my readings, I should be using the other side but oh well....... Anyway, I am finding the paper very similar to the Illustration board that I did the horse on earlier. I am able to get a few layers on with enough to blend. It feels a bit dryer? than my usual Bateman paper but I don't mind it so far.

Anyway, this is a picture from a calendar of a beautiful little spaniel that I had been saving for a while. Lots of long hair, (take note Karen... )

11x14 on Stonehenge paper with Prismacolor pencils. I used the gel pen for the little mouth whiskers but will tone them down later. I can post the colors I used if anyone is interested.

Re: Smile for the Camera

I'm with ArtsyCakes re the browns. Which browns are you using and in what order. Your art is so wonderful, it is no wonder you get lots of commissions. Thanks for posting your progress.
