Louise

Here is a painting I had started of a puppy, Louise, that was dumped in my neighborhood. We are still trying to get her a good home. She is so cute I couldn't resist painting her.

I tried one painting (and sold it) using a limited palette of three tube colors + white. I did the same with this.

I am at a bit of a cross roads. I like the painting as is, & am not sure if I should paint in a background color. I dunno.

Comments please!

Re: Louise

i like it as is- i think a background would take away the freshness of it

Re: Louise

She is adorable! I like it as is as well. It's understated, and I think a background would distract.

I love the gestural simplicity of this.
Great puppy. I would leave it.

Re: Louise

It is a very cute puppy and I like that soulful expression. Nice light, fresh work. No background needed.

Re: Louise

She looks so delicate and the background you have emphasises that, I think.
