Constable cloud study

I did this at art class using only three oil pastels and white its based on a Constable cloud study, a bit abstract with the cloud colours

Re: Constable cloud study

I think this is absolutely luminous ...lovely study and a good example that less is sometimes more when it comes to our choice of colours

Oh I really like this! It's a beautiful mix and blends, but as Steve said it is luminous! Great use of your value ranges to give the clouds shadows and depth.

This is wonderful, congratulations!

Re: Constable cloud study

Very nice! I find it's easy to overwork clouds. They seem to start out looking great and then get worse as I go along. You totally avoided this pitfall.

Re: Constable cloud study

Beautiful subtle transitions with just the right amount of magenta/crimson accents here and there. The accents hold the viewer's attention, while the quieter blue passages seem to hold it all together.
