Newest Dry Brush Portrait
Well, this one took roughly 3 hrs, entitled "Madisyn" Oil on 12 x 12 using dry brush technique. I just picked up this medium about 2-3 weeks ago and am so in love with it. Feedback please!

She/He is beautiful! It seems like you and oils get along very well.

Excellent work, great rendering of the fur and of the expression of the model.
It is a pain that signature, or watermark, well in the middle of the portrait....

It looks like a copyright just for protection on the web; I doubt it's on the original

Re: Newest Dry Brush Portrait
This is awesome! Nice work! No problem watermarking it IMO- that is your prerogative.
My input: If you haven't, you should try painting on a smooth, gessoed panel. The smooth surface may lend itself to your dry style. Another option is to prepare a canvas surface with several layers of "ground" to fill up most of the canvas weave. The resulting illusion is often improved when removing the weave texture, particularly with your style, using a minimal amount of paint. Lovely work, very very nice!!!!

Re: Newest Dry Brush Portrait
Great input SSB, I'll hafta try it. Ya the watermark is put on after, I have heard of others making prints off of others works, ya they'll be in trouble when they get caught, but I'd rather not be looking for them, and I'll make them work for it if they really wanna lol.... Thanks for the input all! just finished another, I'll make a new thread...

Yes, you are right; but a person with medium/good knowledge of Photoshop may make the watermark disappear quickly, and with perfection... There are special tools for that in the Program...

Re: Newest Dry Brush Portrait
yes, I do know about that as I am a graphic designer myself, the legendary healing brush, patch tool, and clone tool. unfortunately there is only so much an artist can do to gain some protection on the net. at least if someone wanted it bad enough they will go through great lengths and do anything they can, I just decided to not give them the easy road
