The Presentation of Spiders, oil on panel (detail, central figure of 5) in progress. 20 x 40 inches.

Started the first version of this painting in 2007, put it away for a few years, then restarted it (brand new on a fresh panel) last summer.

I'm really feeling this now, and will be picking up the pace on this until its finished, and "done right) this time.

Sometimes I wonder if I haven't accidently stumbled into the portraits forum this month!

Nice work Keith, this one is worth going back to. Debbie, I hope you show the 2nd one as planned. Iirc, it is across the street from where you work?

Great work here, as usual. I started this one as a donation for my choir to try to raise money. The choir is having a wine tasting event, this will have a concert playbill and some corks in it. Hopefully it will raise some money. 11 x 14". Still need to adjust the background, and it is wet, sorry for the reflections.

Nora, I love the depth in this painting. If I baked cookies, they would be gone by tomorrow!

Debbie, both of these have a lot of depth, chiaroscuro, and drama to them - fantastic work!

Keith
, it looks like a great start and I'm eager to see it develop.

Judy, your wine glass looks like it's leaning a bit to the left, but it might just be your camera distortion. Nice choice of colors.

Nancy, yes, kind of a bit left, thanks! I am planning to fix it, I need to add a little more to the left side, but I wanted the reflection to dry first. Easy to mess it up when it is wet!
