Re: Red Dirt Legend (WIP)
Wow! Impressive! Can't wait to see the finished painting! Do you always work this large for portraits?

Re: Red Dirt Legend (WIP)
Great work so far, love the progression shots. You seem to get great coverage with 1 layer of paint, but it doesn't look like it's applied thickly; I rarely see this quality of work without painting in layers. Superb!

Re: Red Dirt Legend (WIP)
Thanks Bellaskye, This is my first painting of this size. I have done one 36"x48" before, but most previous work isn't large scale.
Alan, thanks for the kind words! I will be adding layers, and I have applied a few as I go. The paint is not very thick at this point, I will build it up some later on.

Re: Red Dirt Legend (WIP)
That is incredible. The figure looks so real against the blue background. I also noticed the unicursal hexagram he's wearing at the neck and wonder if he's a Thelemite.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law!
how great that natural law works in art as well, no?
Excellent work. Astounding. I'm very interested in how you progress across the canvas, seemingly finishing as you go! wow. ( i would love to see a timelapse vid of your work!)
Keep it up!
