Good Morning Sunshine :) xpost
My latest abstract work. Not too happy with the water reflections. C&C welcome.
Was wondering if this would look good as a triptych. What do you think?

I like the colours and the brushstrokes very much. I think this would work very well as a triptych.

I always love a tree so boldly contrasted on a sky like that.

Personal opinion: I like the triptych--it grabbed and held my attention immediately.
Viewing an abstract painting is like looking at the world with moist new eyes not yet habituated to focus, eyes that remain fresh jewels from heaven, not the dusty and scratched ocular mind telescopes we use to navigate concrete and steel infrastructure. This painting has that magic quality.

Thank you Donovan. I am so happy that my painting evoked this emotional response from you. Love the words you have used to describe the view.

I agree with those who were struck by the triptych approach. I could see this very nicely rendered into coloured glass and set as a window into a wall.
I also quite like how you have repeated the 'ovoid' brushstrokes from the sky into the foliage in the foreground. It brings a unity to the painting.
It reminds me of a location not far from where I live, where it is possible to look across the water just like this to the hills to the West behind the setting sun. The trees struggle against the prevailing wind, and you have captured that effort of the living thing to grow against the wind.

Thank you Colin. Oh yeah, I can see this as a window art with light coming through the colors. You are lucky to have access to such a beautiful sight. I love watching sunsets and have gone to great troubles to see them
