Lightbulb WDE 11 Jan 2013 Images Here

DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS, BUT I'M ITCHING TO GET STARTED!!

I will be posting 14 images and a challenge photo! Please wait until all are uploaded before commenting - thank you.

You have 30 minutes to make your choice and choose your materials - you may use any medium.

For the next two hours, just go for it……then STOP!, scan or photograph your work and post it in your own new thread with your title, beginning with WDE, plus date, plus title.

When you introduce your work, please add a description of size, medium, support (paper, canvas etc) and time taken.
If your work is digital, we'd appreciate a description of whether it's freehand drawing/painting, manipulated image or done using the filters available in some programmes - you could also say which programme you've used.
All are acceptable but we'd like to know the "hows, whys and wherefores"!!

Use WIP for any work in progress at the 2 hour mark, and MI for multiple images if other works are to be added before the following Monday.

NB. To avoid forum flooding, please put all of your work during the weekend, for the current WDE, into a single thread: multiple threads will be merged!
From the following TUESDAY, you may open a new thread for later work.

You have the whole week to participate - until the next WDE starts (usually Friday). If you finish a piece after that time, we now run a 'Catch-up' thread in the forum each month where you can post any WDE not completed in its allotted week .... it's a sticky near the top of the forum page.

After posting your contribution, please view others’ entries and comment and encourage when you can. Unless requested, please refrain from critiquing.

All of the photos are mine... Hope you enjoy them!

This is one of several still lifes that I set up a while ago... Crocks, Apples, and an Orange (some of the others are also in the RIL) - the Link for this one: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

We have a wonderful little park (Tuscora Park), just outside of the downtown area, where people gather all of the time to feed the ducks there. I have posted several images in the RIL - this one is here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

This little guy is Frodo... I don't have him any longer, but thought it would be nice to share his total cuteness with you! I found him a wonderful home with a new brother and everything! He had terrible separation anxiety, which drove my neighbors crazy while I was at work. Sad thing is, is that only a few weeks after giving him up, I lost my job! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

The Tuscarawas River runs through our town, and lots of Canada Geese have adopted our area in recent years. This was taken not far from my house. RIL link here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

This adorable, little girl is my daughter, Hilary (only one "l", please! We're very fussy about that!). She's only about 3, maybe 4 years here... 20 years ago!! Time certainly flies! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652 (sorry, the image isn't much bigger here - scanned photograph)

Hosta Bed - The image in the RIL is actually the full photo - this is a crop. This is my neighbor's back yard border, behind their garage! RIL link, here:
http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Blue Bowl & Eggs: Not too long ago, I decided I wanted to do a "traditional" still life of kitchen stuff - this is one of several photos, none of which I've gotten around to (I love this bowl, though)! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

After several months without Frodo, I decided I couldn't stand not having a dog any longer, and visited one of our County Pounds, and found this fella. This is Lakhota - oodles of personality, and much too pretty to be a boy! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Sacred Heart, the Moon & a Tree - This church is just up the street from me - loved the moon being visible in that blue sky! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Shadow Rose - This was the last bloom of the season in Sacred Heart's courtyard. RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Our area is stoked with history! and lots of guys that like to dress up as pioneers! These two were at the Atwood Fall Festival - I just love the guy on the left - has an ornery look about him! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

New Philadelphia, my home town (where I still live) is the County Seat - this is the Tuscarawas County Courthouse, just a few blocks away! RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Wake Up & Smell The Coffee - Atwood Fall Festival. RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

Woman - Atwood Fall Festival - I just thought this woman was beautifully suited for her role here. RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

That pretty much wraps it up! Except for......

THE CHALLENGE PHOTO - On my drive to work (previously), I would always come up on some beautiful sunrises, over the little town of Bolivar. This was on one of my morning comutes. I love this type of photograph - the look of the dark foreground, and would like to see how someone may interpret it in a painting! Nothing special, no particular medium or anything, just paint it.

RIL link, here: http://www.wetcanvas.com/RefLib/show...&ppuser=755652

That's it! I hope you'll find something here that inspires you! Have fun! Now, let's paint!!

Jean

You can always post them in a reply post to this thread. The WDE limit is 16, so you can post one more if you want!
Great set of images!

Re: WDE 11 Jan 2013 Images Here

Thanks for the lovely selection Jean - they're great!
If you add one to a post one of us will ad it to your second post so they're still all together
(Usually, because smilies are counted as images, most sets are posted in two concecutive posts, so it's OK )

Re: WDE 11 Jan 2013 Images Here

Thanks, Maureen! I was really flaberghasted when it came back that I had 26 images posted! Then I saw that the smileys are included in that! I had planned on doing the usual 16, and then adding that last one as the challenge... but, that's okay. So, I'll settle for one more...

Colonial Trade Fair - WDE USE ONLY, PLEASE.
