4 new coastal paintings from the week
I've been away from wetcanvas for awhile. Not by choice - wetcanvas just stopped sending me emails. Looks like I might now have things fixed, and thought I'd test it out posting some images from some coastal painting I've been doing over the last week.

Good to be back,
Timon
PS - If anyone else is having wetcanvas email troubles - it might help you to know that emails to my timonsloane.com address seem to have stopped being sent by wetcanvas (or getting through somewhere else in the cloud). I had to switch addresses to a gmail account to get things working again.

Great work on all of these! I think the second is my favorite. Love your work Timon.

Liked them all but especially the third; the greens in the water really made it come alive for me. Must be difficult to paint the ocean as it is in constant change. Gary

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
Trikist - one of my favorite parts of painting the ocean is the constant movement. Even in the studio, I like to paint from a plein air study along with a video of the scene than from a still photo. It just has more life. I find it important to pick a design for the wave patterns and stick to it, or I can get myself in trouble.
Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback.

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
The 3rd one is my favorite. Makes me want to dive right into that water. Wonderful!
You need to contact your provider of the email account where u are no longer receiving emails and have them check it or change that email addy. Someone may have snagged your email account and is re-directing your mail. It happened to me with an at@t account.
Good luck,
Maryq

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
Thanks Mary.
As for the email account, it still works find and is my primary email. Just these msgs from wetcanvas are failing to get through. I reported this problem to wetcanvas a month ago and was told that there have been numerous complaints about email problems that wetcanvas techs have not been able to resolve the issue as of yet.

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
Excellent work! I like them all, but the first one has the most depth to my eyes, lovely brush work on the rocks, your brush strokes follow the form, and add shape. Reminds me of Cezanne. Great idea on the video. I also struggle to capture the perfect wave pattern, and a video would be easy to capture with a smartphone.

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
At first glance I said, "those places look very familiar to me!" When I saw Pescadero I knew why! haha! I go out there very frequently and do lots of photography but have yet to paint there.
My hubby and I really love to hang out playing in the tidepools at Pigeon Point Lighthouse, I plan on painting a lot of the shots I took while there! I also plan on bringing my painting equipment next time
I love all the pieces you've shown here, just beautiful!

Re: 4 new coastal paintings from the week
Patrice - that's right. That's the place. Good eye. I'm about to load up and head out there right now for another day of painting (yipee!).
