Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Finally have an update..... Hor ray...
The shirt is a little bluer than the original. I have to work on the highlights and darken some of the shadows.
Still have a ways to go... but it is a start...

Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Thank you Becca.
Really appreciate your comments.
It is a learning experience.. but am having fun. Now that the shirt is under control I should be able to get more painting done faster - until the task of glazing comes up and I have to figure how to do that one...
Thanks again.

lovely. Love copying the old masters. What a challenge they are. Flesh that looks like skin you can pinch or caress softly. nice job

Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Thanks John. The glazing part is going to be interesting as it is a new experience for me... Here's hoping...
Thanks Beverly. I saw the version Nancy had done about two years ago and she did such a lovely version that I really wanted to try painting it too.

Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Greetings...
Have another update on the picture. I am going to work on the shirt more as it is too blue. I have more of the under-painting blocked in. Still have a ways to go...
Happy Painting
Joy

Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Joy, you're now into the nitty gritty and you're going like a house afire...this is going to turn out so beautifully that you can't bear to part with it. I think your face is a lot better than mine. At least so far... those flesh tones of Bouguereau's are tricky so do a lot of mixing and learning along the way... I ended up too yellow on mine.

Re: Bouguereau's - "The Harvester"
Thank you Sana Almimar. It is a fun project.
Thanks Nancy. I really appreciate your help. Your painting is just so inspiring.
Thanks Les. I have the image on my computer as a referency and can enlarge the image I am working on to see things clear... also saves on the paper and ink.
Happy Painting.
