Re: Artists and their Studios

Wow! I just stumbled across this thread. I'm new here! What a great collection of photos! It makes the little corner of my living room with my rocker and pink pillow, and my easel, seem miniscule. But I'm painting!

Re: Artists and their Studios

This is a series of studio pictures of Maurice Dubois, Bordeaux, Gironde (33) (France) 1869 - Preignac, Gironde (33) (France) 1944, an artist previously unknown to me. Though I could find very few examples of his work, I did manage to find the large painting on the easel visible in his studio (atelier).

Great thread, CC! Very enjoyable, particularly like the Motherwell and Marden but they're all interesting.

Re: Artists and their Studios

Nice ones Bemoored. Hadn't yet seen the one of the Quay Brothers.

Paul Cézanne, ca. 1904, in front of Les grandes baigneuses, 132.4 × 219.1 cm, photographer, Emile Bernard. If this is indeed the painting now at The Barnes Foundation, it can be seen that it was not yet finished, there are rather slight differences with the Barnes finished painting.

Claude Monet, 1920, in his studio with the Duke of Treviso looking at the central part of the Luncheon on the Grass (Dejeuner sur l'herbe), now at Musée d'Orsay, Paris

Claude Monet ca. 1924 in his third studio, Giverny
