The September Sketches (2003)
Hi everyone!
We thought we might start up this thread as a place for JUST sketches. We get a lot of finished works - drawings - posted here in this forum, but we don't see a whole lot of sketches.
However, sketches are very important! They are groundwork, exercise, they're what keep us going in between larger projects.
So, we challenge you to do some sketches - of anything at all - and share them with us! Good, bad, indifferent, it doesn't matter.
We all know these won't be finished works, so don't be shy, step right up and put your sketches here! See how much you can push yourself - can YOU do a new sketch every week? Every few days? Every day? Show us, and have fun!
This thread is for you, whatever you put in and share is what you get from it. SO we encourage you and implore you to POST POST POST, new work or old styles you think would be benefitial to share. DO NOT BE SHY...
We look forward to everyone's level of commitment, there's no judgement here, so let's draw away, and learn from one another...
Amy & Bobby
Okay so who's first?

Hello, this is my first time...but I want to hear your opinion. This sketch is of an old man, but my sketches never really look like sketches, because I get so much into it, but what do you think? A sketch, or not?

Fabulous hand! I tried once this exact pose and failed so bad.....maybe i'll it again latter, to get a little contest with you diane, just for fun.
This is my first page in setember. Did it yesterday. From that 100 best photos ever - National Geopraphic magazine. Two wild horses in Spain.
Couldn't get some proportions on the up right horse. But i gave up. He won this time.
See ya,

Great sketches everyone! LOVE Ed scissors!!!
Just wanted to say that I'm afraid I cant take credit for making up the cartoons, they are scribbles of "The Magic Roundabout" taken from my screen saver (wanted to draw something that was moving)

Hi Newbie here.... I've just been drawing since May. I've surrounded myself with art and artists for years and have dabbled in many forms of creative expression. Now I'm concentrating on drawing and trying to discipline myself to sketching every day.
This of my husband snoozing at the end of the Labour Day Weekend.
That left arm tucked under his head was a bit gnarly for me!!
