Ted Wesson, Thanks for the Inspiration

Hi all, been introduced to the works of the great Edward Wesson of late, been studying work in all media's but especially love his use of watercolours and pen and wash. I ive sketched this scene on numerous occasions when working away from home around the Avon area, not realising that the master had already produced the most beautiful renditions of the scene, C anc C always welcome.
Thanks for looking, Steve

I like your use of color with just a hint of the red hulls of the boats - well done

Steve I cannot just take my eye off it. It is very good, good is not a strong enough word it should be its superlative. You know I am hopeless at mixing colours therefore I do not even attempt ascene. And buildings and architecture is not my line either. But I love to see good watercolour paintings by others. Yours was an eyeful.

Thankyou,

Charles

Nice painting Steve. Looks like St Mary Redcliffe church and the Bedminster region of Bristol?

Re: Ted Wesson, Thanks for the Inspiration

Your rendition is just as good as Wesson's. Lovely job. Though Wesson was an inspiration to many of us, there are a lot of fine painters out there who are just as good as he, though he paved the way.

Re: Ted Wesson, Thanks for the Inspiration

Hello all, thanks for the kind comments, the painting is 14" x 11" and painted on Bockingford extra rough 140lb, I believe a paper very close to what Wesson used to paint on. I think your right tim, it is Bedminster.
Best washes all, Steve
