Her Parents

A portrait of a friend's parents. Just completed and it was challenging as the ref photo wasn't the best (low resolution, dark glasses, etc.) but she did provide additional photos so I could get the eyes. The sad part is her mother is at home with hospice now with just weeks left due to cancer. My friend has seen a picture of the portrait and loves it (YAY) and now I am just waiting until she is ready to receive it. My hope is this will help keep her Mom & Dad close to her throughout her life....she says there is a beautiful love story behind these two.

C&Cs always welcome as that is the only way I can improve.

Re: Her Parents

A beautiful story- well done for persevering with a difficult reference.

Re: Her Parents

This is a beautiful portrait.
I am a little concerned about the eyes, without seeing a reference.
The man has on sunglasses and I think the eyes should be shaded so it looks like they are behind the lenses. The woman's eyes also look a little dominate.

I know how hard it is to paint from a bad reference photo.

I love this portrait and your friend will really love it, too.
