Re: recent digital sketches

Woww this is incredible. Was it difficult to create this effect? I still can't figure out how you could do that in photoshop.. Even with custom brushes.

Re: recent digital sketches

I can't for the life of me figure out how to do this sort of thing in Photoshop. I have CS5, but really, I don't see how this is done at all. I'm not really used to painting or drawing in PS, I primarily use it for photograph editing. I'd like to be able to do stuff like this digitally. (Of course, analog is great, not going to give that up!) What can I look at, read, etc., that will help?

Re: recent digital sketches

tamouse - hi..Im a digital artist and get to practice alot with photoshop it just takes some practice. Also a good collection of custom brushes and stamps and some textures that you can overlay into your picture. And approach it like a traditional painter. concept artist Craig mullins has some videos on applying traditional art values to digital painting that is really worth watching if you can get hold of them!

bertling - It isnt difficult to create the effect.. the traditional artwork i have done helped me alot though and i try to work as if i was working traditionaly thinking about drawing edges values etc

thankyou all for your comments.

Re: recent digital sketches

Gawd I wish I could paint this way.... I'm so jealous.

Agree about that last one. If it were cropped just below the shoulders it would be perfect without the distraction of that black dress.

Re: recent digital sketches

Thanks for the update. Love it!

The dress does add a balance to the composition.
