Stella d'oro lilies

I have these small lilies growing outside my back door. I had alot of fun scratching them. I used the live flowers for my reference instead of a photo. The picture is on 8x10 amperstand scratchboard. I used mostly a #11 x-acto and amperstand inks.
All comments and suggestions are appreciated. It's not sprayed yet, so please tell me if you see anything that should be changed!

It's really nice with a lovely composition. I like the way the bent leaves make it all flow

Re: Stella d'oro lilies

I like how you made the lilies almost glow... and the background florals give it a bouquet look. Nice

Re: Stella d'oro lilies

Beautiful! I struggle with flowers in any medium so I appreciate seeing a successful rendering.

Re: Stella d'oro lilies

I'd never attempt a piece from life not a photo...I'm too slow...they'd be dead before I finished. So well done on that accomplishment alone! Well done on the piece as well...like Patrick, I like the flow.

Re: Stella d'oro lilies

Thanks so much for all your kind comments! They mean alot to me and are very encouraging.
Lorna, the flowers were dead long before I finished. I started with a few pencil drawings while they were fresh and pretty much "winged it" from there.
It's my favorite way to do flowers.

Re: Stella d'oro lilies

Now if this would have been done from a photo I'd be impressed...
but...from a life sketch...then winging it.....
DANG I'm REALLY IMPRESSED!!!!!
I'll agree with everyone else...NICELY DONE!!
