Hails from United Kingdom
Artists & Illustrators Exhibition, London.

For those of you who wanted the info :-

Saturday 26th July.

Managed to get to the Artist & Illustrators Exhibition in London yesterday. Went with six artist friendsand had a GREAT, but tiring day there, and eventually got home at midnight. I think there were maybe a few less stands selling art materials as there have been other years, but nevertheless there was still lots to see and certainly plenty of things to purchase !! Spent a fortune on my Art Spectrum pastel paper which was being sold a lot cheaper than what I purchase it for in my home town ….. bought so much the salesman suggested I buy the whole stand of it and he would send it to me post free !! (nice of him). That would have been great if I had wanted to purchase all the colours they had … .. but I only wanted certain colours. Also bought a few pastels (can’t resist them when they are all there in every colour …… like picking out sweets in a sweet shop …. spoilt for choice !!!!).

Some websites for materials that may be of use to some of you !

Saw lots of UK artists doing demos with various mediums (which were going on all day). Also saw a pastel demo by Jenny Keal (who I had never heard of or seen before now and she is also David Bellamy’s wife). She did a lovely little demo of Hound Tor, Dartmoor, Devon. ( my area).
Check out her and her husbands website (I do love his watercolours I must admit!).

Ended the day off by having a meal in the Italian restaurant next door !!

For anyone who has never been to this its certainly worth visiting. This is my 4th year of going and I will certainly be going again next year.

Hope some of you didn' find this tooooooo boring ... LOL !!

Marcia

PS. Hoping to do a WIP in this forum soon...... just have to recover from yesterday first !!! LOL !!!

Thanks for the info marcia jane! Wish I could have been there...
I visited one several years ago in Birmingham and attended a demo by our esteemed Jackie Simmonds. And she got me hooked on pastels!
