Re: Symphony in red orange...

This really appeals to me - it is wonderfully rendered. I especially like the smoothly flowing graduation of colour from top and bottom to the middle, and how white and vibrant the lightest areas are.

Very nice work Angela. As I already mentioned before, I'm fan of your abstracts. Like the glowing colors.

Re: Symphony in red orange...

This is a very well composed abstract colored pencil drawing. You have all the design elements working together to form a unified whole. You stated that it is experimental at 5" x 5", but I'm visualizing it as a large format 30" x 30" drawing which would be an awesome artwork. Are you considering this?

I love this, abstract isn't my thing usually but this is so vibrant, so alive. Technically I think your colour transitions are brilliant

Re: Symphony in red orange...

MSRivers, thank you!
DeBro, I, too, think it could be bigger. But then I had to find a way to accelerate the process... I will think about that! Thank you for your considered comment!
Marie, thanks a lot!

Re: Symphony in red orange...

If anyone reads this still... what do you think about the size? I really like to do these small pieces. Does it really matter? Should I make them bigger?
Would be nice to get some advice...

Going larger would not always be the way to go...it will take up a whole lot of time and dedication to make sure you have the outcome as you get with your smaller format. I would try it and see what the pro's and con's are that you run into. Even though I love the smaller pieces and you have to get up and personal with to really get the full grasp of the piece...I do love the larger pieces,

Thanks, George! You mentioned all important aspects.
Some years ago I made some pieces for whom I spent about 100 hours each, but now I'm less patient. I would rather try several things out than spending so much time on one piece. I thought of arranging e.g. three or nine pieces in one frame, but I wouldn't know how to fix them; glue could damage the paper, I think.

Re: Symphony in red orange...

I like your choice of colour and how you graduate them. It's like it glows and there is dancing, great fun.

As for going bigger, I'm similar to you in not having the patients and I was usually doing pieces sized about "5x7" and not long began a piece sized "14x8" whilst it is taking longer I'm really glad I've gone larger and think I'll continue to work larger.

I think your works would look fantastic larger, giving them more impact, but I also think you need to do what is comfortable for you. You could always have them printed larger??? if you don't want the extra work in drawing them larger (not the same, just a thought though).

As for putting multiple pieces together, could you place them in a frame arranged together. But that could give you limit's on what you could do.

Just wanted to add - If using a acid free glue should be fine...... wouldn't it?
