Turbulent River

I did this painting with Corel Painter 12 and Intuos 5. All comments and advice are appreciated. When I did a color study, the house was going to be a light reddish gray mixed on the support. After my block in, I felt more was needed and used a square sponge brush to lay colors of red, green and white. I wonder if the pattern is too much and if the house now competes with my focal point, the lamp. Thanks.

Re: Turbulent River

You could be right about the house. I think you might want to work on the river some more, if I didn't read the title I might think it was a road.

nice,I sometimes put a wash of colour over to soften bright colours, something I used to do in watercolours.

Re: Turbulent River

Nice Arl, but more detailing would be nice. The river don't look like a river to me...takes practice, I know.
