I said lots of positive things about this painting and am full of admiration for the beautiful colours, handling of the elements and wonderful atmosphere created. I liked the idea of the figure but just couldn't relate to her. She is a very small part of the painting but attracted my eye. I shouldn't have said this here and blame it on that extra G and T and a long day.
The 'wetness' of the scene is masterly. I have learnt a lot from this picture and also hopefully better manners to simply praise a lovely work.

You have absolutely NOTHING to apologize for Margaretta. There was nothing negative about your critique nor anyone else's that I saw. For my part I relish good critiques. Critiques are about growing and learning and I get something from each one. Just because I painted it doesn't mean it is perfection and I take no offence to honest commentary. One honest critique is worth 1,000 atta boys.
