New member (and Zodiac Wheel of the Year)
Hi! I'm an oil painter new to the website so I thought I'd pop in and say hello since I'll probably be spending the most time here. I've been wanting to find an artists' forum for a long time and I'm so excited that I've found one. I just recently moved and most of my paintings are back at home, but I have this one finished painting (and of course I'm working on more).

Re: New member (and Zodiac Wheel of the Year)
Thanks. It's 30x30, so it's pretty big. I moved to Honolulu a little under a year ago when my husband got stationed here. I'm actually working on a few paintings based on Polynesian and Hawaiian mythology and legends.

That is nice size, and they have wonderful legends to draw from...is your husband in the navy? It is a great place to be stranded.

Yep. Navy. It's pretty nice here, but I miss the colors of fall. But hey, there are worse places!

yes, there are...enjoy it while you are there, and absorb that inspiration to paint those legends.

Welcome to Wet canvas! This is really great, love the season changing trees around the border.

Splendid! There is something of psychologically magnetic in its forms and colors, in its mysterious details!...

Re: New member (and Zodiac Wheel of the Year)
First I saw the zodiac as the Wheel in the season cycle, but when I looked again it was the eye of the unborn, undying, ever-present now. The witness that sees all. I love that kind of depth in art. Thank you for sharing this.
