Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter Last Night's Life Session 8/2 (X-posted at Watercolor Gallery)

This one was done in 30min alla prima. 8.5x11" cheap 140lb paper--- crimson? (don't remember)



1hour, alla prima as well. 11x15" 140lb watercolor paper. crimson (? same as above) and phthalo blue.

I can see the solid drawing underneath- which really makes these good! I would prefer to see more connected paint in the first to enhance the drawing (seems a bit patchy to me).
The second is really well done- both drawing and paint.

Your watercolors are delightful, Cesar. They are clear and not overworked, which is an asset. As Bethany says, connecting darks helps with coherence, but don't lose the clean application of washes.

Which is easier said then done ....really lovely , I have been meaning to ask u how much are ldrawing session can u get too in a week ...and do u find it much better to draw from life now then mags .... I see Hugh leaps in you since the life work has started ...just my thoughts ...

kate- appreciate your kind words! It's hard not to overwork watercolors and keep colors identifiable

sandra- I have been attending one weekly session of 3-hrs of Life drawing. It's so much better, fun, and difficult from life than magazines or photos. Definitely have seen improvement here- thanks for noticing!
