Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Awe,, thank you Susan,, that means so much, coming from YOU , of all people! you have had so much going on in your life, I cant even keep up!!

Today, I got to work a tad bit early,, stopped by a place that sells sheds,, made by the Amish,, I fell in love with one that had a neat front porch,, I can envision myself sitting on the front porch, with my artsy stuff inside,, just waiting for the touristy types, to stop by to buy buy buy, Anywho,, I snapped a few pics, of my dream shed,, then got to work, had to move a bunch of moving boxes, because were I HAD them stacked, Mark had to move them, because he had to run some new plumbing, for the new girls washer and dryer,, and of course, my boxes, wee in his way,, sigh,, I have spent more time moving things from one place to another, lately,,
I had to say good bye to a few clients today, which is much harder than I thought it would be,, man,, I need to get another box of tissues,, geesh,,
then did some scrubbing of the former tanning room walls,, and had Mark bring the shampooer up to town with him, and did a bit of shampooing,, wowzers! wish I had taken a before and after,, but, then again, that would have made me look like a real skank,, so glad I didnt! packed up a few more things into my car,, took my painting of my son off the wall today Brought him home that was hard,,
Sold another tangle card,, wow! gonna be RICH! 2 bucks at a time! yehaw!!!
sent out an order for some Christmas Tangle cards,, THANKS Kathleen
and sent out a bunch of postcards to client that I dont see too often, to let them know, I will only be there for a couple of more weeks! holy crap! I think I am terrified!!
wow,I have sure rambled on and on,, so sorry,, please, if you are bored,, dont read this

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Sometimes endings are hard Mary...but try to think about the fact that it is also a new beginning!! I know that is NOT easy...but think about that new building....they make them shorter, and cheaper, and keep the porch and subtract the picnic table....work with them, and I bet they will work with you to get you what you need, and make it what you want!! Maybe there's more than one artist to go together with?? You already have been a business owner...you have a heads up on most!! You go girl!!

And why would you bore us? We all ramble on sometimes....me more than most!! But no one ever tells me not to!

Kathie, I swear, I do not know how yo are doing it!! I always told Mark, I am enjoying my art,, but if I HAD to do it, to make a living, I KNOW it would soon become a job and would no longer be enjoyable,,

Foggy cool morning here in WV. Nice break from the heat.

Walking and watching diet. Having to cook many of my own meals. To much red meat and pasta.

New meds are starting to settle in but taking a lot of time.

Printer issues with mountain lion and my printer. In somerograms, but, not all, it wom't print black but will print color.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Had a busy day here - it's very warm (23C is warm for us) and the showers which were forecast today haven't come so I've spent a few hours (probably 5 in all) using the pressure washer on paved areas around the back of the house, the stone circle and the arbour patio - quite a lot! But the place does look clean now. All the dirt from the roof work has been baqnished to Kingdom come!!!
DH was removing moss from the front driveway - it's BIG and made from those small brick-like pavers, so is fiddly to do. I'll be washing that if the weather holds good. - I do like the messy and dirty job though, it's all the water!

Went to see the cardiologist yesterday and had ECG and heart scan and lots of questions - all is OK and he doesn't know what caused the AF, in fact, he doesn't even know if it was atrial fibrillation because the Emergency Dept. couldn't find the right ECG they did at the end of May ........ I think he was not best pleased! Said he'd find it himself and let me know if I need any treatment ...... don't fancy the Warfarin system though and think I'll resist that particular method! May not need anything at all

He did say I needn't go into the A&E again if it does recurr - I can try to allow it to get back to normal by resting, so that was good to hear.

Mary - lots to do and you're making me feel exhausted!

Susan - sorry to hear about your daughter, hope all goes well for her and it would be lovely for you if she could visit ...... so spare room needing to be sorted??? Nothing like having visitors to get the house put straight! 'Course, I can soon mess it up again!

Hope you're all having a good day across the Pond ......... and Susan, I haven't done my rose yet

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Maureen....I wish it was just the spare room....lolol I am still deep in boxes, and sorting. I guess I need to face the procrastinating and lazy side of me...lol I would much rather do other things!! I am still not sure what happened to the last year and a half....it is lost in so many ways. It is almost as tho' I just moved...only in such a dratted unorganized way!! You may not have done your rose, Maureen, but you worked on your house....I have done my rose, and anything else I can think of INSTEAD...sigh!!

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Mary, thanks, I do really enjoy it.. I do get to paint while there too, which is very relaxing to me, I sit by the front window and all the people going to and from the resturant lunch and early dinner stop and look, its a good thing!!
The framing is fun too, occasionally arguing with my supplier but thats business!
all works out in the end and happy clients!

Maureen, hope they get the AF regulated for you!

later all!!

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Yesterday, which should have been a simple day, turned difficult. Two acts, the opener came on to hot and loud and the manager of the event, the agent, the tour manager of the headliner put me in a position where I had to have them turn the volume down. It is not something I cherish but it had to be done.

Very tired this morning. Hoping today will be a bit easier. Diet continues to be difficult. Way to much beef here. Thank goodness I set in a bit of sliced turkey and some chicken breast. I cook at the trailer on those beef days. Have had lots of salads, fruits and veggies so it is okay.

Was hoping to show some horse show pictures but mountain lion and WC don't seem to have much compatibility in that department.

Howard, On behalf of all the listeners to the event, I thank you for turning the sound down. The most painful event I ever attended was a Linda Ronstadt concert at Constitution Hall. Wonderful music, but physically painful.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Susan, I do hope your daughter is feeling a lot better now. Must have been such a worrying time for you. What a go-getter she must be taking on such a lot. Hats off to her. Good that she and her husband are thinking of visiting. That will be nice for you. Must be nice to have a daughter with whom to potter around in the kitchen and enjoy some good girlie talk!

Mary, a hug for you. Closing chapters of one's life is never an easy emotional experience. However, you can now sit on that Amish Porch and paint away whilst the passersby watch in awe and then buy lots of your works. What a very nice dream. Make it come true.

Maureen, that is not nice at all. It must have been a worrying time for you and the family. Take care of yourself. Hug.

Howard, good for you turning the sound down. I haaaaate loud music and in fact I hate loud noise of any kind. Don't be tempted by all that beef. Not good for you as you know. Discipline my boy, discipline!!!

It is really , really hot here at the moment and we are expecting high temps over the weekend and even hotter weather on Monday. Not for me. I like it a little more temperate. Pete is going into the Austrian Mountains with six members of the Alpine Club this weekend. I shall do some prelim. sketches of a dog portrait, read, take a nice walk up to the beautiful park here and generally enjoy some quiet time before the new very challenging week starts.

To all the gang, warm hugs.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Busy day with horse pull, rodeo and concert. Getting a bit worn down. Have a11hour drive on Monday. Tuesday at 7AM back to work. Need to get laundry done.

Diet here has been not so good. Have avoided the beef, but, not enough good protein available. Have been augmenting with pritein drink. Sometimes good, sometimes not so satisfying. Best I can do right now.

Hope all are well and life is good.

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

Howard, I wish I could somehow figure out a way for you to eat better!! I am sure you are worn down, with not only the stress of the shows, but the diet mess! {{{hugs]]} Please take care of yourself!!

Maureen, did not mean to be so caught up with my daughter, to not be concerned about your health as well! Hoping that your dr gets everything straightened out!!

Chammi...we do like to girl talk, but not in the kitchen....we both prefer to be alone in the kitchen...lol...I learned that from my mom, and I suppose, she did from me. My mom's and mine were from insecurity, I think...lol...tho' I am much better now, than I used to be!

Found most of my winter clothes today, and my missing shorts and tees....all mixed in with stuff of Bob and Bubba's, and most of it moldy...grrr!! My own fault. Tossing lots of it out...but trying to see if I can wash some of it....lol....more work!! I did actually make a visible dent in the amount of boxes and bags to go thru' and that is good!!

Later all!!

Re: Quick Dry Cafe August 2012

oh Susan,, what a bummer I hope you can save some stuff
Howard,, you make me tired,, I hope you can get your diet/life under a bit more control,, sometimes, control is all we can do
Woke up at 4 AM today,, sigh,, layed there, waiting for sleep to come back, got up for potty at 5:30,, finally just got up at 6:30, to make coffee, get dogs settled for the day, and went to work geesh,,
Have been having headaches every day, now,, weird,, they dont seem to start until I get HOME.. hmm , I am afraid it is due to not getting enough done in town, before I come home, then feeling bad, because I am home and not getting stuff done in town,, ugh,, what a depressing feeling,, I have been shampooing carpeting, washing walls down,, Mark is getting plumbing ready for a washer / dryer combo,, ( funny, I NEVER had one of those the whole 25 years I was there,, ) but, oh well, it is what it is,,
Would LOVE to have my Amish porch to sit on, but, it is WAY above and beyond what I can afford, at this time, or for a long time to come. sigh,,
will just keep plugging along, one day at a time,, right?
Kathy,, enjoy all of your painting and showing off for the public,, I find that I am quite private with my painting and stuff, when I was watching a table for our alumni weekend, for our 150th celebration, I felt quite awkward when I heard a lady talking about my work, while I was working,, I asked her, in a silly way, to quit talking behind my back,, but, actually had to put it away, until I knew they were gone,, that's just me, I guess>>>
good for you, on being able to paint while others are watching
( I will NEVER become a teacher)
