Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Carol cracking up on your gopher story, love it...
New computer is wonderful, but hardly on it much at the moment, isnt it always the way.
Experiencing crushing fatigue and low grade depression for to long now, back under psychiatrist again after 7 years, seems long term usage of one of my meds can cause thyroid problems, so now having to go thru tests to rule that out, before we look at possible change of meds.... Im so over this, thought it was all behind me. Even the lure of the easel doesnt motivate me Im flat out turning up for work at the moment and when I come home, since I have been running on pure adrenalin while there, I just crash out... and sleep like the dead.
Please add me to your prayers, I cant go thru this again.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Touching base and then off to the races again!! We are having our Vacation Bible School this week, so I will be gone mornings with that. Still have to drop by the Mission House every few days. Oh, and I am teaching Sunday School this month to my class. . .we had almost 25 this morning. None of this is a problem. . .it is just that they are all at the same time!! An ATC is looking real good to me right now!
Meryl, Sweetie, you can do any thing you set your mind to do!! Buck up, GF, we know what you are made of!! Understand about the sleep, though. When your body needs rest, get out of the way and rest!! I remember when I was pregnant with our first son, I was teaching and would come home exhausted. . .shoes at the door, hose on the way, books and stuff here and there, until I hit the bed and slept until my body said to get up! Who would have guessed? The next morning I was ready for the day. . .by afternoon. . .yep, same thing!!
Carol, I wished you a Happy Birthday elsewhere, too. Hope it was a wonderful day for you! I did laugh outloud about Nigel!! That is so funny. . .mean Mom!! How does he know that that monster is not still out there??!!
Elaine, oh, the sweet kittens could not have done all that damage. . .well. . .maybe!! I have to keep all my stuff up and away from our crew because of adventures like yours! Hugs!!
Patti, the Cacti are stunningly beautiful!! Wow, look how green the 'limbs?' are! Glad you sent the second batch of photos!!
Maureen, I miss you. . .
Agnes, I am 'thinking' about the challenge, but just not this week!! I am tryng to decide on the photo right now!
Hugs, Katherine

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Hi Everyone,
Carol, Hmmmm I thought I saw a new 'gopher' in my yard this morning..LOL
Well it'll fit right in with all the rest and the possum and skunks and deer and
wild turkeys, rabbits good grief it's crowded here and oh of course the visiting cats. I need to move from Noah's ark...roflol Sorry bout poor Nigel
he'll go out again eventually they just have to do it on their terms, I had to take one of mine out and stay out with him, he got had a little meeting with something that rattled him too, now he's fine. Give Nigel a big ole pet for me.
Katherine seriously I am rather sick of their antics, if I ever get the chance again there will be no animals unless they are mounted and framed..haha I do mean as in paintings not stuffed...hahaha
Meryl so sorry you went down hill, I do understand just try and ride it out there is always a rise round the corner. Prayers are with you. Just rest when you have to, I know it doesn't shut the mind down but your body knows big big Hugs coming along too.
I spent three days in bed myself, this is the first I've been sitting up. Have no idea what the heck it is or was but felt like I had the flu, which I didn't.
Really horrid stomach pain and then it would wander around my body and come out as muscle ache, joint stiffness, upper and lower back, shoulders and neck at one point I thought I was having a heart attack my arms would numb. But since that's as far as it went I knew that couldn't be it. Felt almost like when I was down with the Lymes too, so bizarre.
Daughter came home and called me and while talking she was saying the same thing about what she was experiencing but apparently not as bad.
Wasn't tired but all the symptoms and pain went away when we laid down but once we got up it started all over again. At least today I'm up and moving around with only a little discomfort cross my back. I didn't even get to Mass and I never miss going.
Funny tho how things turn out because Larry took the car down to the general store and it died (course it did it's paid off this month..hahahaha) He said good thing I didn't go to church or I'd have been really in trouble..haha Guess it's the piece that is the connect on the battery, just need to get a new one but as to how (since the car isn't running is yet another query hahaha) I tell ya it's always something..haha And to make things perfect we had a big storm roll through, but today is beautiful and I'm up..
Maureen hope you got to accomplish all you set out to do.
Hi Patti, Sharrm, Blue what's the report on the ocean still rolling along..haha,
to all the peeps.
Well not going to sit too long I have three days to catch up on but I will see you all later.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Good morning peeps from the perennial peeper. Just finished the weekend of dog sitting. I'm using that activity to help me get over losing Pearl.
Carol, your Nigel is definitely a wimp compared to this kitty. Obviously these people don't have enough to do

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
HI gang - quick pit stop/fly-by!
Meryl - so sorry to hear you're way down again - maybe it's all the thyroid and a change of meds will pick you up - certainly hope so ... hang in there and just rest between the 'hell for leather' episodes!
Elaine - another virus perhaps? Can Lymes recur once in the body? - doesn't explain daughter having similar symptoms tho'. Get well fast
DH in hosp. last night - rapid heart rate (heard that before!), 7pm paramedic, then ambulance, emergency, Medical Assessment ward and finally a short stay ward just to monitor him - though by 9pm he felt OK again. By 1am he was actually in a bed as opposed to a trolley and I got home at 2am. I collected him this afternoon and apart from being very tired (lack of sleep) he's fine thank goodness! I'm shattered too, so it's an early night for us
Prayers and good thoughts for all the poorly peeps we have in our circle and also for those still aching for lost ones (of any description)
Katherine - you exhaust me
Had another of those horrendous storms yesterday - cars submerged, homes flooded, sewage coming through the manholes in the street - yuck!
BUT - the roof kept it out here ....... garden was flooded with water but at least it drains quickly.
Later peeps - take care and all get well

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Wow Mum would give anything for a "hell for leather" episode, havent had one for years...we all love our "highs"..... trouble is its such a bloody crash afterwards...
However Thanks All for your well wishes and including me in your prayers. Life has been so stable for so long, I had forgotten how much feeling like this sucks..
Only source of humour I can find is what will be the expression on the new Shrinks face when I tell him about the guardians that come and stay with me, when Im really rock bottom ... No I dont hallucinate, if I did, my dog would not have acted the way she did at the time... We are never really alone, but try and convince a medico of that
Noods so hope your recovered... certainly sounds like a virus... We have one here at present, cuts you off at the knees it does and just when you think your over it, hits you like a sledgehammer again. Take it easy hon and dont overdo it.
Mum..... interesting what your saying about sewerage from storm... Had the same thing happen near here just recently.... the householders are suing for damages the local council over it....
Teach Thanks hon, I can relate to the pregnancy tiredness, got that with my second for the first 6 months.... but the 1st was the worse... morning sick for 8 months.... lost weight all thru them.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Hi Meggsy, sorry you are feeling out of sorts. That sucks.
The bathroom project still continues. We chose granite over the weekend and made the final decision on tiles. We have most of the product chosen and just have to order it. All we have to decide on is faucets and other minor things like that. It has been going for ages. I hope the bathroom is under construction while I am away.
I was suppose to ride tonight but the outdoor arena was too wet from the torrential rain last night and the indoor arena too dry.....go figure that one.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Shirl, I agree, those people have little to do OR they are very big into scientific research!!
Elaine, GF, you did not tell us you were flat of your back and in pain!! Bless your heart!! Glad you are up and around some today. . .keep improving!!
Meryl, I think I can hear a bit of humor slipping back into your post!! I am sure that the doctor had a real hard time with your guardians!! Not to worry, they are there for you, so enjoy their presence!
Maureen, wow, what a scare for you and your DH!! So glad that he is home with you so that you can 'watch' him! Bless your hearts!!
Vacation Bible School was so much fun!! The children are eager to do what we set before them! One little first grader was telling us about his cruises. . .I have never been on one!! He is really a smart little boy!! Another note: we are to wear green t-shirts because the theme is about National Forests. Well, I have a Summer complection, but could only find lime green shirts. . .a Spring color. . .interesting to say the least! It is only for a week and then I will donate both of them to the Mission House!! (I had my 'Colors' read several years ago and really enjoy having everything mix and match in my closet.)
Hugs, Katherine

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Morning all,
Maureen hugs to DH that's a lot to go through, for the both of you and I am very happy he is feeling fine and home. Hope you both can rest and relax.
Hugs to you too dear friend.
Unfortunately the Lymes can and it doesn't take much apparently, but I'm sure it was some kind of virus, but as to where it would have come from ?? I'm not really in crowds much, but I do breath so guess that's all it takes sometimes..
Carol takes time to put it all together and yes wouldn't it be nice if you come home to a finished new bathroom.
Meryl I do hope you are on the rise again sweetie really quickly keeping you close in prayers.
Katherine is the dangdest thing but I'm use to the dangdest things..haha Am feeling much better, little hint every now and again but definitely it's on it's way out, whatever it was..haha Lori is better too so must have been some kind of virus. I haven't done a summer Bible camp in ages but I remember the little ones, was always such a delight, Bless your! heart and your lime green shirt..
Hi Shirl that was interesting, stark reality oh my gosh that could so easily be me..hahaha I really need to get among humans more...roflol
Do have to go to the pharmacy today, Larry thank the good Lord managed to fix the car without buying a part so fingers crossed I get there and back..haha Mark's birthday is coming up too so will pick up my usual scripts and a card. Other then that not planning on doing too much today.
Echoing Maureen's wishes to everyone too!! I will be back later.
Hugs all round,
Elaine

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Hi all - just checking in to see what you've all been up to.
Carol - happy, belated birthday wishes to you! I hope you had a great day.
Meryl - So sorry to hear you've having a difficult time lately. Big hugs to you.
Elaine - Maybe you had the flu? Lots of it going around at the moment. My DH and me both had it at the same time, for about 3weeks - only just now recovering.
Maureen - Sorry to hear about your hubby. Glad he's home and recovering now. Big hugs to you too.
Katherine - Sounds like Bible School was fun! Those little kids can come out with the most amazing and interesting stories.
Well the most interesting news from New Zealand (apart from the Olympics) is that one of our dormant Volcanos erupted yesterday. The last time it did that was in 1897 so there's never been a sign of anything until it suddenly burst into life. Lots of underground activity as another volcano (an active one) of White Island has been extremely busy lately puffing out lots of smoke. Good grief what with the earthquakes around Christchurch and all this underground activity, we wonder if anything else is going to happen!! New Zealand is on the Ring Of Fire so I suppose this will happen from time to time! I hope that's the finish of it, though.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Wow Viv - hope no-one gets hurt with the eruptions - I think NZ has suffered enough recently!
That storm we had where the sewers/drainage system couldn't cope was supposed to be a 'one in a hundred years' event - then we got this second one on Sunday - that's 2 in a month! Is this global wrming or global wetting I wonder!
Off to our other place tomorrow for DH to have a bit of R&R, watch the rest of the Olympics and me do some drawing/painting ........ that's the plan, bow it will materialise is anyone's guess!
I'll be in when I can - mobile connection permitting.

Hope you are feeling better Elaine. Larry could have brought it home from somewhere and it may not have made him sick but it nailed you. Anyway glad that you are up and about again.
e.g I took Bill the cat to the vet (he has since passed away), anyway brought him home and ~3 days later my other cat gets very sick. Both were indoor animals so I know that it had to come in with Bill. Bill did not get sick at all.

Re: The Greenies Room August 2012
Carol - sorry to hear about your cat.
I'm glad the volcanos are in the North Island and I'm safely in the South Island!
Apparently Mount Tongariro threw rocks and ash a mile into the air, when it erupted, and the ash is drifting east and the sulphur smell can be smelt as far down as Wellington. But it's settled down now with smoke coming out of 3 new vents. No-one was hurt but a DOC hut (which trampers and climbers use) was demolished but luckily nobody was staying in it at the time.
The thing that I find very interesting is, Scientists were monitoring these dormant volcanos and there was a little bit of grumbling and mumbling from the mountain for a few months before but absolutely dead quiet for a month before the eruption....SO...to me that says with all the modern technology available today scientists still can't predict things like volcano eruptions and earthquakes.....maybe they never will! I guess these natural events will happen anyway!
